Malcolm Richards – Founder & Director

My name is Malcolm Richards and I founded the Road School in 2009.

I have worked for many years as a teacher, senior leader in schools, pupil referral units, education projects in London, Buckinghamshire and Devon, and as an advisory teacher for a South West of England local authority.

Since 2019, I have been conducting doctoral research at the University of Exeter. My thesis explores how teachers mediate ‘funds of knowledge’ from Black British diaspora and indigenous communities as resources for ‘critical dialogue’ in largely monocultural schools.
